Hey All!!
My name is Shauna Ketcham and I have the incredible honor of being the head coach of the Cavallo Cowgirls Equestrian Drill Team!!!
I have been the coach of the team since its inception 8 years ago and prior to that I was the coach of another team. I have been riding and showing drill for 6 years, riding with the Smoking Guns and Buckshot Beauties. In addition to riding and showing drill I am the owner / trainer of Ketcham Quarter Horses and Paints in Livermore, CA located on the beautiful Circle J Ranch, specializing in AQHA and APHA all around horses. I have been riding and showing my whole life and have worked and trained under Bruce Vickery, Chris Brown, and Scott Neuman in the AQHA world, just to name a few, and under Sumer Peioxto in the drill world.
I own 4 registered quarter horses; London (Scotch or Not), Diamond (Miss Plain Quixote), LF Hancocks Delight (Gracie), and Ella (Noturaverageshadeofgrey), am a secret closet nerd, coffee addict, and overall competitive person in all facets of my life. It is a privilege to coach these young ladies and an honor I am incredibly passionate about. Go CC riders!!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm Samantha Turner and I am the assistant coach to this amazing group of girls. I have been coaching the Cavallo Cowgirls for 5 years and I loved every second of it.
I have ridden drill for five years, starting with the West Coast Cowgirls, then Smokin Guns and the Buckshot Beauties. Besides coaching drill, I compete in sortings and team penning. I also compete in the rodeo world! In 2015 I was Miss La Grange Rodeo Queen, and traveled all over the state of California and Nevada.
I have 4 amazing horses that carry me through all my adventures. Tequiza, she's my main go to for drill and rodeo queen shows. Chrissy, Tammy and Dora (which was my first horse I bought). All these horses make everything I do possible and I couldn't do it without them. I myself am a very competitive person too and love being able to put that effort towards these girls. I have seen them grow from it and love all these girls! Go Cavallo Cowgirls!
