August, 2023 The Cavallo Cowgirls continued their travels in 2023 to the beautiful Rolling Hills Equestrian Center in Corning, CA. It was a hot weekend full of hard work, practice, and competition. But after putting down 2 great rides, the ladies came home with 1st place trophies in both Quad Division & Junior's Division.
The team thanks the whole crew at Rolling Hills for putting on a great event at a great venue. We look forward to making the trip again in 2024!
The team also wants to congratulate Trinity Wexelman from the Flying Arrows for her dedication to Drill. Winning the Robert Lorbeer Spirit of Drill honor and trophy is a true representation of your commitment to the sport you love. It was amazing to see you ride!

June, 2023 The Cavallo Cowgirls went on the road for the first time this season to compete in the Western States Horse Expo at the beautiful Rancho Murieta Equestrian Center. The events of the weekend consisted of Drill clinics, Drill Competition, and the American Ride where 36 riders from all of the competition and performance teams ran together. It was an amazing 3 days of fun, learning, and competing. Working hard at preparing for this first competition of the Drill season proved fruitful for the team as they won 1st Place in the Small Team Division.
The team performed 2 competition rides consisting of a Short program and a Freestyle program along with The American Ride.

May, 2022 - The Cavallo Cowgirls have once again laid down a great showing at the California State Horseman's Association (CSHA) State Championship in 2022, taking 1st place in the Juniors Division.
The team performed two programs and and a theme ride where they paid tribute to all of the services that protect us and keep us safe. Their rides delivered them the State Championship trophy in the Juniors division.
The Cavallo Cowgirls are coached by Shauna Ketcham and Samantha Turner.
Team members are; Audry, Ali , Ellie , Kassady , Lucy , Natalie , Sophia , Sophia "Pie" , and Taylor.
September, 2021 - The Cavallo Cowgirls had another great showing at the California State Horseman's Association (CSHA) State Championship this year, taking 1st place in the Mixed Division along with multiple other awards.
"It had been over two years since our last competition, so what a fantastic feeling just to see all of the teams assembled back at the Diamond Bar Arena September 17-19th." said Jill Kraut, Head of CSHA Drill Team Committee.
The team performed two programs and and a theme ride where they paid tribute to all of the services that protect us and keep us safe. The ladies took 1st place in the Theme ride and ultimately took Overall Reserve Champion of the event. The Cavallo Cowgirls are coached by Shauna Ketcham and Samantha Turner. Team members are; Ashley , Ali , Juliana , Kassady , Lucy , Natalie , Sophia "Pie" , Taylor , and Teaghen .
The Cavallo Cowgirls participated in and led the Precession of Mourners to honor fallen officer Harminder Grewal of the Galt Police Dept on October 9th, 2021. Officer Grewal was a veteran of the Galt Police Dept where he served the community he loved.
The Cavallo Cowgirls joined many cowboys and cowgirls in the Cowboy Honor Ride in Stockton, CA for fallen officer Jimmy Inn on July 3rd, 2021. Officer Inn was a veteran of the Stockton Police Dept where he served the community he loved.
The Cavallo Cowgirls travel to Auburn, CA on January 11, 2020 to honor Deputy Sheriff Brian Ishmael and the ultimate sacrifice he made for his community. The team is honored to be part of the event and part of the larger group of cowboys, cowgirls, and everyday citizens who support our law enforcement community.
Proud to be part of the Cowboy Honor Ride to honor the sacrifice made by officer Tara O'Sullivan, the Cavallo Cowgirls rode with many fellow cowboys and cowgirls in downtown Sacramento on August 24, 2019 to remember and celebrate the life of the fallen officer.
Flying the Thin Blue Line flag, the team took their horses through downtown Sacramento along with hundreds of other riders there to show solidarity for our law enforcement community.

July, 2019 - Tracy's own equestrian drill team, The Cavallo Cowgirls, traveled to Southern California to compete in the California State Horseman's Association (CSHA) Coto Cup competition at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on Sunday July, 28th. This year's competition marks the second year that The Cavallo Cowgirls have participated in the annual event where they continued to solidify their presence as a young team among many that have been riding together for much longer than they have.
The team performed two programs and earned a very respectable 3rd place overall in the Elite Division that consisted of 7 teams, some of which are much larger and have decades of experience together. The ladies scored the highest point total of all competitors in the freestyle program according to the CSHA Chairwoman, Jill Kraut. The Cavallo Cowgirls are coached by Shauna Ketcham and Samantha Turner. Team members are; Alexa , Ashley , Juliana , Ronnie , Sophia "Pie" , Sophia , Taylor , and Teaghen .
July, 2019 - The Cavallo Cowgirls, based out of Tracy, CA, came to celebrate America and all the freedoms we cherish as Americans during the Tracy 4th of July parade.
Proudly flying the Stars & Stripes while riding their horses, the Cavallo Cowgirls saluted the city of Tracy as they represented the sport they love.
May, 2019 - The Cavallo Cowgirls came to ride at the 2019 CSHA State Championships at Diamond Bar Arena in Ceres, CA this year. The ladies proved once again that they were there to compete, and win.
Putting down 3 excellent rides during the weekend, the Cavallo Cowgirls took home 1st Place in the Theme competition, running a Star Wars themed ride on May the 4th (be with you!). Their subsequent Long program & Short program in the very competitive Mixed Division earned the team Reserve Champion in the event.
August, 2018 - The Cavallo Cowgirls competed valiantly in the Coto Cup event at The Horse Park at Woodside for the first time in the team's short history. As a member of the California State Horseman's Association, the team prepared all year for this event, including participating in the CSHA State Drill Team Championship event at Diamond Bar Arena in Ceres, CA earlier in the year.
Competing against many great teams during the weekend, the Cavallo Cowgirls placed 3rd overall in the event. Putting their passion and dedication all year toward the sport they love, the Cavallo Cowgirls were recognized as CSHA's "most improved team" of 2018. With this honor they were submitted into the drawing for the coveted CSHA Championship buckle, going up against the high point leader Buckshot Beauties. Their commitment to success proved fruitful in the end when "Most Improved" was drawn as the winner, taking home the team's first buckle! Congratulations to the team, and Go CC Riders!
June, 2018 - The Cavallo Cowgirls had another strong showing at the Reno Rodeo drill team competition in Reno, NV. 2018 marked the team's 3rd year competing in the event, and proved to be worth all the hard work they put towards their goal.
After a weekend of fun in the sun & fun in the saddle, the Cavallo Cowgirls take 2nd place overall and come home with their best placing yet.
